MLK Day of Service - Lake Fayetteville

  • Veterans Memorial Park at Lake Fayetteville Fayetteville, AR (map)

This MLK Day, the #OORC invites the trails community to participate together in a day of service at Lake Fayetteville in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Monday January 15th starting at 9am... by playing in the dirt!

Volunteer efforts will be focused on seasonal maintenance and tread repair on the popular multiuse soft-surface trail that circles the Lake.

This volunteer opportunity will be VERY family friendly, and a great way forArkansas Jr High and High School Mountain Biking Student Athletes to give back to the trails they ride.

NO EXPEREINCE NECESSARY and TOOLS PROVIDED!

We'll start the day with a safety and appropriate trail use presentation starting at 9am at the Veterans Park Trail Head. We'll provide the tools and education, we just ask that you wear good shoes, gloves, and bring hydration.

From there, it will be only a short hike into the trail system. We'll wrap up around noon with snacks provided by Subway.

Make sure to bring a bike and afterwards we'll take a group ride around the Lake Fayetteville Trails (weather permitting)!

The OORC has been building and maintaining trail across the Arkansas Ozarks, and these opportunities are a great way for any interested community members to make a lasting impact for hikers, bikers, trail runners, and dog walkers. Come play in the dirt with the OORC!
