Cave Springs residents object to the Razorback Greenway trail expansion
CAVE SPRINGS—The Cave Springs’ Planning Commission held a meeting this evening about a proposed trail connecting its downtown to the Razorback Greenway, but some residents don't want the trail in their neighborhood.
The trail would run alongside several homeowners’ backyards and people against the project said it will reduce their privacy. Security and shrinking home values are also a concern.
Those in support of the trail argued there are hardly any sidewalks in Cave Springs and a trail is a way to remedy the situation.
The city council has already approved establishing a finance committee and received a $500,000 grant from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department.
"We are all for the trail, we just do not want it to disturb our privacy and our quietness that we have, and this beautiful view that we have," Ann Gentry said, whose home is next to the trail.
