Born and raised in Little Rock, Sam left Arkansas after college in Fayetteville to get his MFA in poetry at Brooklyn College in New York City. After brief stints in higher ed. and book publishing, Sam got involved in the NYC bike community doing advocacy work for Transportation Alternatives. He loved it so much that he decided to make a career shift and wound up landing his dream job as Director of Communications at Bike New York. After a few years, Sam and his wife Rachel quit their jobs and traveled North America for a year in a 1976 Airstream Overlander with their two pit bulls. He's thrilled to be back home helping to make Northwest Arkansas a more bikeable, livable place.
